How Pageviews are Calculated


Pageviews calculated every time a visitor views a page or reloads a page.

Follow these steps to view the page views

Click Audience >> Overview, You will see the page views.

What are Unique Page Views in Google Analytics

According to the google a unique page view is

Unique Pageviews is the number of sessions during which the specified page was viewed at least once. A unique pageview is counted for each page URL + page Title combination.

Let me make it very clear

 if a visitor visits page “A,” then page “B,” and visitor returned to page A from Page B.

In this session, page A viewed two times, these two pages views will be added to the total page views count, but only one unique view will be added to the total number of unique page views.

Difference Between Page Views and Visits

Pageviews represent the total number of page views in a given time period.

A user reaching your site by entering the URL in the URL field of the browser, reaching your site from search engines, or reaching your website by clicking the hyperlink on any other website called a visit.


What is a Good Number of Page Views?

Generally, The more page views, the better. According to the income school rick Kesler and Jim, each page on the website should get at least 1000 page views after one year.
